Workshop Overview
Dive: 14-day dives and 2-night dives on the best macro dive sites of Tulamben and Amed
Accommodation will be a private room with air conditioning, conveniently located near the dive center in Amed.
If you prefer higher-standard hotels, we can assist you in finding the best option available in Amed. For an optimal experience, we recommend staying in rooms close to the dive center.
Over the course of 7 action-packed days, you’ll immerse yourself in underwater macro techniques while enjoying included lunches and dinner.
Daily Schedule: 2 or 3 Dives, private photo review, theme group sessions lunch and dinner.

Guided Dives: Two divers per spotter ensures personalized attention. You can also choose to have a private spotter if you prefer. Nitrox for certified divers.
Private Photo Review: Daily sessions to enhance your skills. We’ll review your best pictures of the day, edit them in Lightroom, and discuss what we can improve for the next day. You’ll improve your images and learn how to critique your pictures to bring the best out of them.
Review of your favorite images of the day: The group will discuss our favorite picture of the day. Having more eyes and views will help us improve and collect more ideas on how to take and edit better shots.
Theme Group Sessions: We’ll concentrate on daily topics to improve our images. The topics will be:
- Shooting and buoyancy techniques to improve our underwater images.
Animal behavior: Learning animal habits will help you capture the best of it. - Composition: Master the art of framing underwater scenes to reveal the best of our subjects.
- Light Position: Understand how light affects your shots. We’ll discuss the different options and how they will affect our images.
- Camera Settings: Optimize your camera for macro photography. Choose from a black background to a shallow depth of field for a nice bokeh.
- Extra equipment: We’ll talk about snoot, diopter, and color lighting to bring our images to the next level.
- Editing with Lightroom: Post-processing tips and tricks to enhance your images.

Under the guidance of seasoned instructor, you’ll learn essential techniques for macro photography. From composition and lighting to advanced camera settings, we’ll dive deep into the intricacies of capturing tiny marine life. By the end of the trip, you’ll have an incredible portfolio of images and newfound friendships with like-minded underwater enthusiasts.
Tulamben, situated on Bali’s northeastern coast, boasts abundant marine biodiversity and exceptional dive sites tailor-made for macro photography. From captivating critters like nudibranchs, seahorses, and frogfish to vibrant nudibranchs, crabs, and shrimps, Tulamben offers a diverse and captivating backdrop for your underwater macro adventures.
We will dive into the best macro dive sites in the Tulamben area. Depending on the critters and weather conditions we’ll choose from Melasti, Seraya, Sidem, Batu Niti, Batu Ringgit, Segara, and many other rich dive sites.
All the dives are shore dives and maximum 30-minute drive from the dive center.
